Trinity: The Topic of World's Longest Debate

[All references in this blog are based on KJV Bible, because it is still the most widely used version].

Please keep a Greek Bible and a KJV Bible to verify the verses stated in this blog. If you feel comfortable, you may use an online Bible such as http://bible.cc/ for both the KJV English Bible and the Greek/Hebrew Bible.

Introduction
When you ask Jews, Christians, and Muslims 'How many Gods do you have?', they say in unison 'ONE'. When you ask Jews, Christians, and Muslims 'whom do you worship?', they invariably say that they worship the God of Abraham. Again, when you ask Jews, Christians, and Muslims 'How do you describe your God?', without much thought, Jews and Muslims describe their One God using the words ONE and INDIVISIBLE and INVISIBLE and ALMIGHTY. On the other hand, Christians do not feel comfortable using the words INDIVISIBLE and INVISIBLE, but relatively feel better using the words ONE and ALMIGHTY. Without the attributes INDIVISIBLE and INVISIBLE, the Christian God would obviously look different schematically. Interestingly, the One God of Christians looks so different schematically that the Christians often use the words "Trinity God" and/or "Triune God" to define their One God. In fact, the word 'Tri' (Three) has gained more significance among Christians that the word 'One' is used sparingly and used cautiously when needed.

This blog will attempt to define Trinity/Triune God of Christians, the basis for their faith, the reasons for why and where their reasoning went wrong, THREE major reasons for why their concept of God is impossible, SEVEN minor reasons for why their concept of God is impossible, the historical events that led to the development of the Christian One God, and finally the core purpose of this blog.

The Description of Trinity/Triune God
Almost all of my Christian brethren compel themselves to describe God using three different components/ identities/ forms/ persona/ beings/ avatars/ or whatever (Father, Son, Holy Spirit). Moreover, these three identities/ forms/ persona/ beings/ avatars etc are mixed in two different ways to render the description of the One God.

One group of Christians believes that there is One God. He, as God the Father, interacted with people of the OT period; He came into the world as the Son and interacted with people of the NT period; and from the Apostle’s time until now works as Holy Spirit. Usual analogy is that H2O exists as ice, water, and vapor but still the same H2O. This group calls itself 'Unitarians' (oneness believers). The so-called Unitarians think that God is the Father, Father is the Son, Son is the Holy Spirit, and Holy Spirit is God.

[Please note that this group will not include the 'Biblical Unitarians', who DO NOT describe the One God using the words "Father", "Son", and "Holy Spirit"].

The other group believes that One God exists simultaneously as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He interacts with his people in appropriate forms. In a few occasions, he splits up his persona for us to understand that he is three-in-one. Accordingly, Trinitarians say that 'Father', 'Son', and 'Holy Spirit' are three independent persona/persons belonging to one Godhead.

The most common analogy used by Trinitarians is that a person can simultaneously be a husband for his wife/wives, father for his children, and coach for his football team. (There is no analogy to explain how/why God splits up his persona as done at the time of Jesus taking Baptism; and why one of the persona is not aware of the plans of the other). This group calls itself 'Trinitarians'.

Trinitarians think that Father is God, Son is God, Holy Spirit is God, but Father is not Son or Holy Spirit, Son is not Father or Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit is not Father or Son, and also Father alone is not God, Son alone is not God, Holy Spirit alone is not God.

Either way God is described in three EQUAL forms (Trinity) Father, Son, Holy Spirit, existing either sequentially or simultaneously. In fact, the sequential version is a recent improvement over the simultaneous version.

What compels the Christians to describe God using the words "Father", "Son", "Holy Spirit"?
The core faith of Christians who believe that God should be described using the three words 'Father', 'Son', and 'Holy Spirit', is based on FOUR major verses in the KJV Bible.

The famous four verses are listed below.

1 Tim 3:16
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of Angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Isaiah 44:6
This is what the LORD says--Israel's King and Redeemer, the LORD Almighty: I am the First and I am the Last; apart from me, there is no God.

Rev 1:17-18
When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last.
I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.

Acts 5:3-4
But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? Why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? Thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

The logic of Trinity/Triune God is as Follows:
1) Following Isaiah 44:6, and Rev 1:17-18, Jesus is possibly God Almighty.
2) Following Acts 5:3-4, Holy Spirit is possibly God Almighty.
3) There is only One God.
4) Conflict in number is because the nature of godliness is a MYSTERY as per 1 Tim 3:16.

Therefore the best way to understand this contradiction is to accept that God is Trinity/Triune God.

So, why are the Trinity/Triune God believers wrong?
The reasons for 'The Great Christian Confusion' can be broadly classified under misconceptions and mistranslations.

First - Misconceptions: There are enough evidences in the Bible to conclude that the Hebrew people believed in only One God. However, we also see that the words 'God' and 'Lord' are used for entities other than God. Consequently, our forefather misconceived that "If there is only One God, then only 'One Being' can be called God. Therefore, they misconceived that all entities being called God are part of the same 'One Being' (or/and) are manifestations of the same 'One Being'" In line with this logic, the contemporary Trinity/Triune God believers deliberately assume that more than one Person can together form ONE BEING. They go even further to prove their stance by deliberately re-defining the words "Godhead", "Godliness", "Person", and "Being". The most serious error of the Trinity/Triune God believers, is the fact that they believe that the word "Godhead" means the Supreme Being [In truth Godhead means the divine nature/characteristic of God]; "Person" means a facet/manifestation of the Being [In truth Person means an Independent Individual]; When we say 'Being' we essentially refer to one independent individual Person; However, Trinitarians believe that it is possible for a 'Being' to exist as MORE THAN ONE 'Person'. Since, the definitions are way too far from truth, they camouflage this wrong-doing using the word 'mystery'.

Although Hebrew people believed in One God, we see that Abraham, Jacob, Moses, and several other great people have used the word Lord/God for the Angels who interacted with men on behalf of God Almighty. Nevertheless, all of these great people worshiped God Almighty alone. Clearly, this is a cultural issue. Hebrew language provides the premises for calling higher beings and persons as Lord/God. It is their way of respecting the authority bestowed upon the messengers and anointed ones of God.
In the example below, the Angel (in the form of man) who spoke with Abraham is referred to as LORD, and this LORD is again referring to another LORD who will bring upon Abraham that which HE hath spoken of Abraham. [Many think that God called himself LORD in this passage, but try reading it carefully to see the original context and meaning]. The true meaning is revealed when this passage is read with Amos 4:1-11 as shown below.

Gen 18: 17-19:- And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which He hath spoken of him.

Amos 4:1-11:- I have overthrown some of you, as GOD overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD

For similar examples of overuse of the words Lord/God, see the following references: Gen 32:22-32; Hosea 12:3,4;
Ps 45:6,7; Heb 1:1-10;
Ps 82:6; John 10:34;
John 1:1-10; John 20:28.

Concepts like Trinity God/Triune God/Three Avatars of one God/ and whatever have evolved out of our inability to understand and accept this several-thousand-years culture of the Hebrew people.

Second - Mistranslations: As a result of lack of cultural knowledge, most of the original scriptures were mistranslated according to what our fore-fathers thought was right. For example, 1st John 5:7 in the KJV English Bible reads like this "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one".
However, the original Greek Bible had only four words and reads like this "treis eisin oi marturountes" - which only means "For there are three that witnesseth". [Search 'The Comma Johannaeum' for a detailed study on this].
Similarly, 1 Tim 3:16 which reads as "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." is also a corrupt translation.

The Greek version is as follows:
καὶ ὁμολογουμένως μέγα ἐστὶν τὸ τῆς εὐσεβείας μυστήριον· ὃς ἐφανερώθη ἐν σαρκί, ἐδικαιώθη ἐν πνεύματι, ὤφθη ἀγγέλοις, ἐκηρύχθη ἐν ἔθνεσιν, ἐπιστεύθη ἐν κόσμῳ, ἀνελήμφθη ἐν δόξη.

The Greek word "ς", which is used as a pronoun for godliness, has been mistranslated as God.
The word ς (pronounced as "OS"), which roughly means "IT" / "WHICH", is translated as God in English. Accordingly, the most recent reverse translated Greek bibles bear the word "θεος", meaning God.

Unfortunately, this mistranslation has deviated millions of Christians away from the TRUE GOD.

In line with these two problems, in the following sections, we shall discuss THREE major reasons to prove that Trinity is wrong, and SEVEN minor reasons to reinforce the idea that Trinity /Triune God is wrong. We shall also discuss the sequence of events that compelled Christians to develop these concepts, and finally the most important reason to REFUTE TRINITY/TRIUNE  GOD, which is the purpose of this Blog.

The FIRST proof to refute Trinity/Triune God
The concept of trinity/triune God heavily relies on the premise that 'Holy Spirit' is a person/ persona/ unique entity/ form of God etc. Unfortunately, for those who have read the Greek Bible, holy spirit is not a unique person/entity or whatever.

Holy Spirit was considered as a GIFT from God by the early Christians. God gives a spirit that is holy (holy spirit = spirit of holiness) to each of those who believe God; and each of the spirit is subject to scrutiny (1 John 4:1-3). Also, the Bible has proof of communications between God and His Christ, but holy spirit is never involved in any communication with either God or Jesus. These two points question our perceptions about holy spirit. Clearly, holy spirit cannot be considered as a unique entity at par with God or as a component of God, or as a form of God (as understood by Christians generally).

Evidently, in the Greek Bible, the pronoun used for holy spirit is αυτό (aftó), which is grammatically defined as third person neutral singular (nominative and accusative), and hence the correct pronoun in English is 'IT'.

Holy Spirit (Pneuma Hagion) is personified in a few verses as the comforter (parakletos). In this case,  the translators had the liberty of using a masculine pronoun in the translations. At the same time, the Hebrew term for spirit (as seen in Gen 1:2) is 'Ruach'; and this term is feminine in gender. In general, all pronouns used for Holy Spirit remain to be neutral singular. Therefore, Holy Spirit is Impersonal.

THE USE OF IMPERSONAL PRONOUNS FOR HOLY SPIRIT IS THE FIRST AND FOREMOST PROOF TO DENY THE CONCEPT OF TRINITY/TRIUNE GOD.

The SECOND proof to refute Trinity/Triune God
Throughout the Bible, Jesus was never called Almighty God. Also, the apostles always identified, the Father as the One God and identified Jesus as the Lord. See the verse below which is in fact the faith statement of early apostles.

1 Corinth 8: 6
But to us there is but One God, THE FATHER, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

The extent of affirmation clearly exposes that the apostles, Paul in particular (as per the above verse), never assumed Jesus to be the One God; he always knew that the Father is the One God. Also, a closer look at the verse would reveal that Paul never mentioned about Holy Spirit. Thus the above verse categorically negates the stance of trinitarians that Trinity/Triune God concept existed right from the beginning.

Accepting the above verse as the basis for rejecting the stance that Jesus is the One God / One part  of the One God, is seemingly impossible for many trinity/triune God believers because of other verses, the most  prominent of them is John 1:1.

Trinity believers always rely on John Chap 1 Verse 1 to prove that Jesus is God; and then go to Duet 6:4 to show that there is only one God. Then they conclude that Jesus is therefore the Almighty God, and hence there is no reason to explicitly call him Almighty God.

Unfortunately, John 1:1 does not imply that Jesus is Almighty God. If Jesus (the Word) was Almighty God, then there is no need for God to teach us that the "Word was WITH God". Please remember that the Hebrew people overuse the word 'God' as shown again in the example below. We need to be careful before jumping into conclusions, because our culture and way of thinking about God is different.

Please note the important words used in John 1:1 in the Greek Bible
In the beginning was the Logos (Word),
the Logos was WITH Ton Theon (The God),
the Word was Theos (God).

'Ton Theon' means 'The God'. The definitive article confirms the reference to the Supreme Being
'Theos' means 'God'. The definitive article is NEVER used any where in the Bible, when the word Theos is used in reference to Jesus.This again proves that Jesus is not Almighty God.

Clearly, the early Christians would have never thought Jesus was part of the trinity/triune God as claimed by contemporary Christians.

THE FACT THAT APOSTLES DECLARED THE FATHER AS ONE GOD (in I Corinth 8:6) AND THE  FACT THAT JESUS WAS NEVER CALLED 'ALMIGHTY GOD' ANYWHERE  IN THE BIBLE IS THE SECOND IMPORTANT PROOF TO DENY THE CONCEPT OF TRINITY/TRIUNE GOD.

The THIRD proof to refute Trinity/Triune God
Most of the learned Christians take the Book of Revelations to prove that some of the statements used by Jesus were used by God Almighty in the Old Testament; thereby try to conclude that Jesus is God Almighty.

A detailed description of the argument is given below.

In Rev 22:12 Jesus claims that he is Alpha Omega, First and the Last, Beginning and the Ending. A similar claim can be seen in Isaiah 44:6; most Christians believe that the speaker in Isaiah 44 is God Almighty and therefore conclude that Jesus is God Almighty.

Alpha Omega/First and the Last/ Beginning and Ending

Consider Is 44:6 – you MAY conclude that these are the words of God Almighty

Consider Is 48: 12-16, read verse 16 and again read from verse 12 – you may conclude that these are the words of the Messiah.

Consider Rev 1: 17, 18 – you may conclude that these are the words of Christ. (See also Rev 2:8 & Rev 22:13)

First of all we need to understand that the phrases Alpha Omega/First and the Last/ Beginning and Ending are not exclusive titles of God. These phrases and other similar phrases are used to emphasize the completeness/wholesomeness in terms of nature and purpose of the subject matter. Therefore, these phrases were used by both God and His Christ in both the OT and NT.

Jesus deliberately uses these all-encompassing phrases to emphasize the completeness of his purpose on earth and also to emphasize the authority he has over those who believed in him (that he is the messiah attested by God).

I Cor 15:27, 28 – Everything is under Jesus, at the same time Jesus himself is subject to God.

Exclusive Attributes of God. The phrases Alpha Omega/First and the Last/ Beginning and Ending can only imply completeness. Both God and his Christ are complete in terms of their purpose.

However, there are some attributes that are applied to God Almighty alone in the Bible. Two important attributes of God are omnipotence and timelessness (Infiniteness).

Therefore, there are two Exclusive Titles that were never applied to Jesus throughout the Bible.
1) 'Almighty God' (Omnipotence)
2) 'Who is, who was, and who is to come' (Infiniteness - the meaning is not apparent because of bad translation in English)

Consider Rev 1:8, read verses 4, 5 and then read verse 8 (See also Rev 4:8)
The above titles were applied only to God Almighty.

Throughout the Bible, Jesus never claimed the title ‘Almighty’ (Omnipotence). At the most, Isaiah told a prophecy that he would be named Mighty God.

Throughout the Bible, Jesus never claimed the title ‘who is, and who was, and who is to come’ (Infiniteness). In Greek 'tou ho on, kai ho en, kai ho erchomenos'. You need to carefully study the original language to understand that this phrase underlines the fact that God exists in the Present, Past, and in the Future; the idea is not easily conveyable in English because of language limitations. [The phrase has nothing to do with the second coming of God/Jesus as usually understood by Christians]. In the Greek Bible the verb 'be' is used in three different tenses 'on', 'en', and 'erchomenos'. The Greek “on,” is the present active participle of “eimi,” “en,” is the imperfect of “eimi,” “erchomenos,” is the futuristic use of the present participle. The whole purpose of the Greek phrase "tou ho on, kai ho en, kai ho erchomenos" is to convey to us the infiniteness/timelessness nature of God.

Please note that both titles go beyond the powers and authorities of Jesus. God alone is ‘Almighty’. God alone is both ‘Complete’ and ‘Infinite’.

Ultimately, God, who is the God and Father of Abraham, Jesus, and all of Us is the Supreme Being.

THE USE OF THE TITLES "Almighty" AND  "Who Is, and Who Was, and Who is to Come’ FOR GOD ALMIGHTY ALONE IS THE THIRD AND FINAL PROOF TO DENY THE CONCEPT OF TRINITY/TRIUNE GOD.

What about 'Aleph Taw'?
A few Christians extend their adamant belief that Jesus Christ is the Almighty God and try to over-prove their stance by playing with Hebrew Grammar. Most Christians think that Alpha Omega, seen above, is the Greek form of the Hebrew Aleph Taw (את) seen over 7,000 times in the OT; therefore they consider that all occurrences of Aleph Taw in the OT actually represent Jesus. Usually, the argument starts with Gen 1:1 which, according to them, should read like ‘In the beginning God, who is Aleph Taw, created the heavens and the earth’. Even worse, some want to read the verse like ‘In the beginning God, Jesus, created the heavens and the earth’.

First, we need to realize that the phrase Aleph Taw is not a title of God. Aleph Taw in itself does not have any meaning, it plays only a grammatical function in the Hebrew language. It is used to indicate that what follows is a direct object and not an indirect object. It qualifies the text to the left of it and not the right of it (reminder: Hebrew is read from right to left).

Any attempt to substitute את with Jesus would prove useless. For example consider the following verses:

Gen 4:1 - “And Adam knew אֵת his wife, Eve…”

Gen 10:8 - "Cush fathered אֵת Nimrod..."

See below a list of 7 standard arguments of those who accept Trinity/Triune God and why they are wrong.

#
Premise for Accepting
Trinity/Triune God
Premise for Refuting
Trinity/Triune God
  1
I and my Father are one.
Bible Reference: John 10:30;
Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
Bible Reference: John 14:9-10;

These verses mean
1) Jesus and God are the same.
2) All those who have seen Jesus have actually seen God.
3) God is inside of Jesus, and hence Jesus is the bodily form of God.
John 6:46
Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.

1 Tim 6: 15,16
He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords,
who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen.

1 John 4:12
No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

Clearly, no one has seen God Almighty except Jesus. When Jesus said that those who have seen him have seen the Father, he means that seeing him amounts to seeing the Father. He never meant to say that he was the Father himself.

The word 'one' means that Jesus and God are united/together, it does not mean that they are 'one and the same'; and the phrases 'I am in the Father' and 'Father in me' mean that Jesus and God are bonded together, it does not mean that Jesus encapsulates God/ God encapsulates Jesus.
Please read the verses from John 17:20-23

Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

These verses clearly explain what Jesus meant by using the words 'one' and 'in'.
2
God is the Creator; Jesus created the World; therefore Jesus is God Almighty.
Bible References: John 1:3;
God is the Creator; God created the World through Jesus; Therefore God is the owner of this creation and hence God is above Jesus.
Bible References: Heb 1:2; I Cor ; Prov ;
3
There is only one Father (God);
Bible Reference: Mat 23:9

Jesus (The miraculous Child) is named ‘Everlasting Father’.
Bible References: Isaiah 9:6

Therefore Jesus is the God, the Father
The word Father in Isaiah 9:6 is used in the sense of Caretaker.
Jesus acknowledges that he is the Father (Caretaker) of the Church of God, and hence confesses… ‘Here I am and the Children whom God gave to Me.’
Bible References: Isaiah 8:18; Heb 2:13

Joseph was also made the father (caretaker) of Pharaoh
Bible References: Genesis 45:8
4
Jesus has everlasting life; Therefore God.
Bible References: Heb 1:10-12

Only God can have everlasting life.
Bible References: None
Melchizedek (High Priest) does not have any genealogy, beginning or ending, but he is not God.
Bible References: Heb 7:3

On the other hand, Jesus is the beginning of God’s creation.
Bible References:
5
Jesus referred to himself as ‘I AM’; ‘I AM is the name of God
Bible References: John 8:58
Greek phrase ‘ego eime’ is never equal to the Septuagint translation ‘ego eimi ho hown’ of the original Hebrew OT phrase said by the Voice in the burning bush. A careful study of the context would prove that Jesus was not claiming to be God by using such phrases.

Compare the following references in Greek bible.
Biblical References: John 4:25,26; John 6:20; John 9:9;
5
Holy Spirit, is the third person in the Holy Trinity; Apostles called Holy Spirit as God

Biblical Reference: Acts: 5:3,4
Jacob fought with God’s Angel, but it amounts to fighting with God himself. Annanias lied to his Holy Spirit, but it amounts to lying to God himself.

Biblical References: Gen 32:22-32; Hosea 12:3,4; Acts: 5:3,4
6
God is referred to as Elohim in the OT. Elohim is a plural noun; therefore God is more than one.
Biblical Reference: NOT REQUIRED
The use of plural noun to refer to only one person is a custom in Hebrew and several other languages and cultures across the world. In the Koran, the word "WE" is used for only one person, the God of Abraham. In Tamil/Telugu (South Indian languages)well learned/ elderly people are called with plural names such as Srinivasa Sharthrigal, Giridhara Swamulu; also, the pronouns ‘Naangal’/ ‘Memu’ respectively can mean both We and Me.
7
Trinity is a complex truth; human mind cannot completely understand it.

Believers should accept Trinity to become members of the Church. (Church By-law)

Biblical Reference: None
God would never cause confusions.
Biblical Reference: I Cor ;

Jesus said - ‘Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent’.

Biblical Reference: John 17:3;

Note: The above verse does not say anything about Holy Spirit. But mandates the knowledge of God and His Christ for Eternal Life.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
See below the historical events that led to the development of all these false concepts:

1) Tertullian, the bishop of Antioch in the 3rd Century AD, first used the Latin word ‘Trinitas’ to refer to Father, Son, and Holy Spirit together. However, Tertulian and the early churches never used this word to preach that the three were CO-EQUAL.

2) In 323 AD, Arius a presbyter of Alexandria wrote a poetic book called Thalia (Banquet). In his work he contended that the word God/Lord should not be used for Jesus because he is inferior to God. Thereby he initiated an argument against several-thousand-years old tradition of using the word God/Lord as a mark of respect for personas other than God. He argued that it amounts to polytheism.

3) Alexander the Bishop of Alexandria believed that Christ was of the 'same substance' as that of the Father; and hence the word God should be used for Jesus as well. He convened a council of bishops from Egypt, Libya, and other regions to oppose Arius and excommunicate him and his followers.

4) These differences in thoughts created divisions within the Churches

5) In 325 AD, Constantine, who was a Sun Worshiper and also the high priest of the pagan religion and who only converted to Christianity on his deathbed, convened a Council at Nicaea in order to develop a statement of faith that can unify the church.

6) The same year Nicene Creed was written, declaring that "the Father and the Son are of the same substance" (homoousios). Emperor Constantine, who was still a pagan, presided over this council.

7) In 341 AD, The council of Antioch was convened to oppose the Nicaea Creed (homoousios)

8) The debate continued from 341 AD to 380 AD.

9) In 380 AD - Emperor Theodosius the Great declared Christianity as the official state religion of the empire.

10) In 381 AD - The First Council of Constantinople was held to review the controversy since Nicaea. Emperor Theodosius the Great established the creed of Nicaea as the standard for his realm. The Nicene Creed was re-evaluated and accepted with the addition of clauses on the divinity of Holy Spirit. For the first time churches were required to accept that Father, Son, and Holy Spirit were co-equal.

11) Athanasius, a clergy in Constantinople, argued that accepting Father, Son and Holy Spirit as co-equal and distinct would amount to accepting polytheism; therefore he urged Christians to believe in only One God; and he subsequently proposed the concept of ‘One God in Three Forms’. His work was mainly focused on distinguishing Christianity from other pagan polytheistic trinities of Assyria, Babylonia, Mesopotamia, India, and Rome. Until the end of 4th century, this teaching was not even known to churches in the East.

12) The Athanasian Creed gained importance in the 5th and 6th century mainly in France, Spain, and Germany. This teaching later spread to Rome in 7th century and became the basis of Roman Catholic faith by the end of 8th Century. By now, the Christian faith was declared officially to all the churches. Conversion to Christianity and admittance into the church was subject to acceptance of this creed. Thus, the concept of trinity/triune God as understood by contemporary churches was nurtured by Europeans, who mostly converted to Christianity for political reasons.

13) In the subsequent centuries, those who opposed this faith were accused of following polytheism and mercilessly killed. Copies of the Holy Scriptures were taken away from common people to avoid divisive teachings.

The core purpose of this Blog
Brethren, I wrote this blog not just to prove that trinity/triune God concepts are wrong, but more importantly to say that Trinity/Triune God concepts are the foundations of idolatry in Christianity.

Faith in the Trinity/Triune God provides the basis for worshiping God in Human Form; hence, accepting such faith amounts to Idol/Image Worship.

Human mind finds it hard to understand/believe anything that is not tangible. When people are asked to believe a GOD who does not have a PHYSICAL form, it becomes difficult for them to believe in such a God. Majority of those who believe in God tend to give him a form and worship him. That is the primary reason why there are more idol/image worshipers in the world than others (including atheists). Most Christians, wishfully ignore/forget the fact that God does not have a form. They compel themselves to worship God as ‘God the Son’, because it then becomes easy to give God a form. Thus, all trinity/triune God believers have the luxury of visualizing the image of Jesus while worshiping. There cannot be a single trinity/triune God believer who can worship God without imagining a form for God (Conveniently the form of a man representing Jesus Christ). If you think you believe in trinity/triune God and still do not worship God by assigning him a form, then you probably lack any kind of imagination skills in the first place.

For most Christians, the ability to visualize Jesus during prayers creates a feeling of direct communication with God. This feeling creates a sense of calmness and confidence. Across the world, religion is used as a tool only to give this calmness and confidence. This school of thought will continue to flourish as long as there are people who seek a tangible God.

Conclusion:
We can see for ourselves that Trinity and then Triune God was formed out of our inability to understand the cultural aspects of the Hebrew people and their language. These false concepts only create endless contradictions in the Bible. They have paved way for Idol worship by encouraging (spiritually) illiterate people to worship the images of Jesus and Mary and Cross (This is more so in my country, India).

Questions:
Whom do you think will be more willing to lead us towards Idol/Image worship, God or Satan?
Whom do you think will be more willing to make us believe false doctrines such as trinity, worship of Mary, Santa, etc., God or Satan?
Whom do you think you should accept and obey, God or Satan?

Brethren, I request you to think about these things more deeply and turn towards the God of Abraham. Please prepare to re-educate yourself and get out of this trap as quickly as possible.

As the administrator of this blog, I have noticed that most of the visitors for this site are from North America, Europe, Middle East countries, Australia and Malaysia. There are very few or no visitors from South America, Africa and Asia (Including India). Possibly, people in these regions are less computer savvy. It would be a great blessing if you can take some initiative to distribute the content of this blog in print to people in South America, Africa, and Asia (if required in their native language).

If you have any comments to share, feel free to post here or send them to my personal address.
